Bring out your child’s artistic side with the Academy’s discovery tours of traditional art techniques and materials. Kids learn key artistic concepts and principals as they complete a variety of creative projects. Appropriate projects and concepts are selected to accommodate the range of individual interests and abilities in each class.
Two levels of art instruction are currently available, for 45 minutes per week:
- 18 months-3 years (with parent or caregiver)
- 3-5 years old
- 5-7 years old

Instructor
Blair Swanson was born and raised in Houston, TX; she is a graduate of College of Charleston in Charleston, SC, where she majored in early Childhood education with an emphasis in studio art. Blair has taught art for a variety of ages including age 3 to 12. Blair has had a life-long interest in art through travels and her family's active collection of art. Blair is currently teaching at the Capital Hill Art Workshop, Washington, DC.
